Team Building
Successful organizations foster a sense of belonging, accountability, and collaboration that comes only when workgroups evolve to real teams. Even when individuals have great talent, good intentions, and a strong work ethic, our success depends on people coming together to achieve more than they could alone.

Client Need: The team responsible for Pharmacy Benefit Management Retail / Mail / and Customer Service Operations planned a one-day offsite strategy and team-building meeting to review 2007 accomplishments and plan for the upcoming year. The team requested a facilitator to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) personality assessment tool and facilitate a group feedback session. They also desired the facilitator to conduct an engaging team-building simulation.
Solution: One of our certified MBTI® facilitators led the morning session and generated a “group” report that allowed the team to determine over-represented and under-represented personality types. The facilitator was able to point out the team’s potential strengths and blind spots. In the afternoon session, the facilitator broke the team into smaller groups and partnered with an in-house trainer to facilitate a third party desert-survival simulation. The facilitator tied group results from the simulation back to the earlier MBTI® results, and participants were, therefore, able to see how their individual personality types affect their problem solving and communication skills within the team.
