Participants examine their work lives and plan their career development. They identify where they are in their career, where they want to be down the road, and what they might do to get there.
Communication Skills (to send the right message)
- Length: half day
- Audience: supervisors, managers, and prospective managers
The course is designed to help managers continuously improve their ability to get things done and build relationships using solid interpersonal techniques. It emphasizes the importance of what we do to create open communication in our area. It also examines the fundamentals of what we say, what we see, and what we hear to communicate effectively in most any situation.
Discrimination, Harassment & Ethics (to lead a respectful, responsible workplace)
- Length: half day
- Audience: supervisors, managers, and prospective managers
Managers are agents of their organization, and the organization is accountable for how agents treat customers, employees, prospective employees, vendors, and everybody else. This course helps managers and supervisors create a respectful, responsible workplace that protects people’s rights and resolves and prevents sensitive issues.
Living with Change (to handle what comes at us)
- Length: half day
- Audience: non-managers
Participants examine the importance and preserving and progressing, our natural reactions to new things, and how we cope with profound changes at work. The course is most appropriate for non-managers. (The Championing Change course if most appropriate for managers.)
Managing & Leading (to influence in today’s dynamic workplace)
- Length: full day
- Audience: supervisors, managers, prospective managers, and business owners
The course is designed to help people prepare for a move to a leadership or supervisory role. It explores the fundamentals of influencing others at work and the realities of managing and leading in today’s dynamic work environment. It provides a realistic preview of team leadership requirements, introduces essential expectations and skills, and offers developmental resources and practice activities.

Presentation Skills (to speak with authority)
- Length: 2 days (with 12 or fewer participants)
- Audience: supervisors, managers, and prospective managers
The ability to provide strong, convincing, and powerful presentations is an essential management skill. The course prepares people to plan, structure, and deliver convincing presentations with confidence and authority. Participants are given an opportunity to practice planning and delivering presentations and receive constructive feedback in a “safe and supportive” classroom setting.
Time Management (to move beyond the routine)
- Length: half day
- Audience: supervisors, managers, and prospective managers
The course is designed for anyone interested in making the most of your time… at work and at home, finding balance between the two, and moving beyond the routine tasks that add little value to your life. Managers, and people seeking a move to management, will find the practices in this course essential to your success.
