The course is designed to help managers influence the success of their employees by closely guiding their job performance and professional development. Coaching is emphasized in Phase 3 of the Performance Management Process in which managers hold formal and informal coaching conversations throughout the year to achieve employees’ performance improvement goals.

  • Continuously improve employee performance by influencing four key performance factors.
  • Discover and communicate improvement opportunities to create awareness.

  • Build competence, and achieve improvement goals, by actively helping individuals learn new tasks and skills, practice them, and move toward mastery.
  • Apply four leader approaches that connect to a learner’s unique needs at each stage of development.
  • Apply a simple model for conducting formal and informal coaching conversations.
