The course is designed to help managers influence the success of their employees by closely guiding their job performance and professional development. Coaching is emphasized in Phase 3 of the Performance Management Process in which managers hold formal and informal coaching conversations throughout the year to achieve employees’ performance improvement goals.
Course Objectives
- Recognize your vital role as a one-on-one developmental leader and performance partner with the employees you support.
- Continuously improve employee performance by influencing four key performance factors.
- Discover and communicate improvement opportunities to create awareness.
- Align your own core beliefs, values, and purpose—as a developmental leader—to motivate and inspire.
- Build competence, and achieve improvement goals, by actively helping individuals learn new tasks and skills, practice them, and move toward mastery.
- Apply four leader approaches that connect to a learner’s unique needs at each stage of development.
- Apply a simple model for conducting formal and informal coaching conversations.
